Day 24 of the 2026 WSOP featured Shaun Deeb dominating the $3,000 Nine Game Mix. Marco Johnson won the $2,500 Freezeout, while fields narrowed in the $25,000 PLO, $10,000 Mystery Bounty, H.O.R.S.E. Championship, and the debut Five Card PLO event.

With the weekend rapidly approaching, the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) continued its run at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas.

It proved to be a notable moving day for tournaments dotted around the venue, with one winner crowned and three more set to be awarded bracelets on Friday.

In completed action, Marco Johnson denied Chino Rheem a maiden bracelet and a Triple Crown heads-up to secure the victory in the $2,500 Freezeout.

From a starting field of 472 players, 164 made their way back to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas to continue their run in Day 2 of Event #52: $3,000 Nine Game Mix.

Following a full day of mixed-game action, eight-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb emerged as the chip leader of the remaining 21 players. Deeb bagged up 3,500,000, a total that is more than twice that of his closest competitor.

Since his fantastic showing at the 2026 World Series of Poker Europe, wherein Deeb had two runner-up finishes and a ninth-place, he has been in a bit of a dry spell, with just one cash this series prior to today.

However, Deeb is now in pole position to get back into a top spot on the Player of the Year leaderboard with a podium finish.

Sitting in a distant second is 2004 Main Event runner-up David Williams with 1,742,000. The deep run marks Williams' first cash of the series as he looks to add a second bracelet to his resume.

The final table plodded along at a tepid pace for much of the night, but Eelis Parssinen ended up making the loudest bang on his way to taking control of Event #47: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha. Parssinen now eyes his second career bracelet heading into the final stages.
In Event #51: $10,000 Mystery Bounty, Day 2 saw 84 runners start the day, but only nine players will return for the final day on Friday. Alex Anton was one of two players to break the six-million chip mark.

A total of 153 of the finest mixed game players in the world convened this afternoon for eight hours of limit poker in Event #54: $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship. Only 69 players managed to advance to Day 2 in this freezeout format.

Seven-time WSOP bracelet winner Scott Seiver advanced and sits sixth in chips, while Maksim Pisarenko finished as the only player inside the top six chip counts not to have won at least two bracelets.

Additionally, Event #53: $1,500 Five Card PLO made its official debut at the 2026 WSOP. The new format attracted a large crowd of 1,319 entries, with just 76 players remaining at the end of the day. Ravi Shankar will return for Day 2 in pole position after bagging the chip lead over Garth Paul.
