Alex Foxen finished in seventh place after a massive preflop clash with Eelis Parssinen, who secured an overwhelming chip lead with 35,225,000. Five players remain in Event #47: $25,000 High Roller PLO heading into the final day.

The final table of Event #47: $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha progressed at a tepid pace for a significant portion of the night, but the tournament's defining moment saw former leader Alex Foxen crash out in seventh place.

Foxen, who entered Day 3 as the chip leader of the remaining 31 players, saw his bid for a second bracelet this week cut short following a massive confrontation that propelled Finland's Eelis Parssinen into a commanding position.

Parssinen and Foxen collided in the largest pot of the day, moving all their chips into the middle before the flop. Although both players revealed two aces, Parssinen hit a set of sevens on the flop and secured the nut flush on the turn.

This critical hand allowed Parssinen to double up into an overwhelming chip lead, leaving Foxen crippled and ultimately sending him to the rail in seventh place. Parssinen sustained his upward trajectory to conclude Day 3 with 35,225,000 in chips.

When action resumes tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time, he will hold a dominant position over the final five players in his pursuit of a second career World Series of Poker bracelet.

Before his seventh-place exit, Foxen navigated a field that featured prominent poker figures, including Daniel Negreanu and Chance Kornuth, and was personally responsible for the elimination of both players.

Foxen first cracked the top set of kings held by Negreanu by hitting a flush on the river, sending Negreanu to the rail in 26th place. Later, Foxen flopped the nut flush to eliminate Kornuth in 22nd place before eventually tangling in the massive preflop confrontation against Parssinen.

The Finnish online legend, recognized by the moniker “EEE27,” possesses extensive experience in the highest stakes Pot-Limit Omaha games globally.

According to The Hendon Mob, Parssinen has amassed more than $18 million in live career earnings. He previously secured a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2021 by winning the $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha mixed event.

Levon Khachatryan positions himself with the best opportunity to catch the leader tomorrow. The California native bagged up 20,100,000 to sit in second place.
With this deep run, Khachatryan has already significantly surpassed his previous live career earnings, which stood at $185,000 prior to this tournament. Together, the top two chip stacks control more than 80 percent of the total chips remaining in play.

The final table lineup is completed by three remaining contenders:
  • Aaron Mermelstein (5,300,000)
  • Sergio Martinez Gonzalez (4,225,000)
  • Jeremy Druckman (2,850,000)

Martinez Gonzalez enters the final day with strong recent momentum, having secured a final table appearance in the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty just a few days ago. Additionally, he finished as the runner-up in this exact $25,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event during the 2023 tournament series.
