Gaspar Fernandez claimed the chip lead on Day 2abc of the 2026 WSOP Main Event with 754,000 chips. Robert Mizrachi built up his stack as 1,260 survivors out of 2,780 entries advanced in the game.

The 2026 World Series of Poker continued its historic run at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas with Day 2abc of the highly anticipated WSOP Main Event. This crucial day of play marked a significant milestone in the tournament, bringing together the surviving players from starting flights 1A, 1B, and 1C.

As the action intensified across the tournament floors, multi-time bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi successfully spun up his stack, while Argentina's Gaspar Fernandez emerged at the top of the overall chip counts.

The tournament rooms at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas were filled with 2,468 hopefuls who had successfully navigated their respective opening flights. The field grew even larger as 312 late registrants seized their final opportunity to enter directly on Day 2.

These late additions brought the total field size up to 8,389 entries. Consequently, the overall prize pool escalated to a massive $78,017,700, with late registration remaining open for one final day during the subsequent flight.

The competitive field ensured a day of high-stakes pressure, resulting in numerous departures. Out of the 2,780 total players who took their seats during the session, only 1,260 competitors successfully managed to survive the structure and bag up chips for Day 3.

Gaspar Fernandez set the pace for the remaining field, concluding the session with an impressive stack of 754,000 chips.

His massive chip count will afford him just over 300 big blinds when play resumes for the third day of competition.

While the survivors of Day 2abc secure a brief period of rest, the Main Event schedule remains packed. A substantial field of 3,638 players who advanced from Day 1D are scheduled to return to the felt on Tuesday for Day 2D.

Following that session, the entire remaining Main Event field will officially merge on Wednesday, July 8. This pivotal day will also see the survivors from the three starting flights of the Ultra Stack tournament combine for their respective Day 2.
