Alessio La Francesca defeated 1,514 entrants to win the 2026 WSOP Online $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship, earning $316,037, a $30,000 Super Pass and his first bracelet. Christoffer Munk also captured his maiden bracelet in the $400 PLOSSUS.
Alessio La Francesca has claimed his maiden World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after defeating a field of 1,514 entrants in the 2026 WSOP Online $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship at GGPoker.
The Albania-based Italian secured a $316,037 top prize, a $30,000 Super Pass to the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event and his first WSOP bracelet.
The victory came 12 months after La Francesca came close to winning WSOP gold at the 2025 WSOP Europe festival in Rozvadov.
Last September, La Francesca reached the final two tables of the €2,000 No-Limit Hold'em Monsterstack bracelet event at the 2025 WSOP Europe festival.
His run ended in 11th place, which at the time was the closest he had come to capturing a WSOP bracelet.
Twelve months later, the Albania-based Italian went one step further by converting another deep run into his first WSOP title.
La Francesca navigated the $1,500 GGMasters Freezeout Championship field until only 46 players remained for Day 2.
Those players returned to the tables before the field was reduced to the final nine. Austria's "Jokee90" was the player eliminated on the final table bubble, setting the stage for the remaining nine competitors.
Anton Silyavko was the next player eliminated, followed by Brazil's Gustavo Pinto. Their respective finishes earned them $51,231 and $66,438, which were credited to their GGPoker accounts.
Artur Berg then finished in sixth place, collecting the tournament's final five-figure score. Brazilian Vinicius "DaddysRun" Escossi followed in fifth place, adding $111,735 to his bankroll.
Marty "dadneedsit" Mathis was next to depart. His latest deep run ended with a fourth-place finish worth $144,092.
The final three were La Francesca, Patrick Brooks and Elias Suhonen. Brooks, a British grinder residing in Mexico, was eliminated in third place for $187,915. His departure left La Francesca heads-up against Finnish player Elias Suhonen.
Suhonen entered the final duel with a recent live title to his name after winning a €10,200 High Roller event at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona festival.
However, the Finnish player finished runner-up in the online championship. Suhonen collected $243,696 for second place.
Suhonen's elimination left La Francesca as the final player standing. The Italian's victory earned him $316,037, his first WSOP bracelet and a $30,000 Super Pass to the 2026 WSOP Paradise Super Main Event.
The result represents a significant turnaround from his 11th-place finish at WSOP Europe one year earlier.
After reaching the final two tables of the 2025 €2,000 No-Limit Hold'em Monsterstack event, La Francesca returned to a WSOP final table in 2026 and this time completed the run with a championship.
The $30,000 Super Pass also gives La Francesca a free shot at this year's $50 million guaranteed
WSOP Paradise Super Main Event.
Christoffer Munk Also Wins First WSOP Bracelet
The $400 PLOSSUS also awarded its bracelet that day, with Denmark's Christoffer "Chrinopoli" Munk claiming the title and a $220,955 top prize.
The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament attracted 6,029 entrants, creating a $2,266,904 prize pool. Half of that prize pool was distributed through progressive bounties, while the remaining 50% formed the regular prize pool for the top 511 finishers.
Munk defeated Kai Lehto heads-up to secure his first WSOP bracelet, $220,955 in prize money and a $30,000 Super Pass.
The victory also denied Lehto a second bracelet of the online series. Earlier this month, the Finnish player won the $1,500 Super Turbo Bounty PLO event.
