Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda has advanced to Day 5 of the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event with 28 players remaining. The Indonesian pro previously won the event in 2015 for €1,022,593 and is now chasing a second title.

Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda is closing in on a second PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event title more than a decade after winning the prestigious tournament for $1.2 million.

Juanda, a central figure of the Poker Boom, has recorded $26.7 million in Hendon Mob earnings. He won the 2015 EPT Barcelona Main Event for €1,022,593 after a three-way deal.

Eleven years later, the Indonesian poker pro has advanced to Day 5 of this year's €5,300 buy-in Main Event with just 28 players remaining.

Juanda's latest deep run puts him within reach of another EPT Barcelona title. His previous victory came in 2015, when he defeated a final table that included German crusher Rainer Kempe.

The 2015 tournament was a significant year in Juanda's career beyond his Barcelona victory. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame alongside Jennifer Harman.

His €1,022,593 Barcelona result was the fourth-largest tournament score of his career, according to the

Hendon Mob.

€1.37 Million Awaits the EPT Barcelona Winner

The stakes are now set for another potentially significant result in Barcelona. This year's EPT Barcelona Main Event will award €1,370,050 to the winner.

If Juanda takes down the tournament, his 2015 Barcelona score will move from fourth to fifth among the largest tournament results of his career, according to the Hendon Mob. With 28 players remaining on Day 5, Juanda is still in contention for the title and the top prize.

Juanda's connection with the PokerStars EPT Barcelona Main Event dates back to his 2015 victory, when he collected €1,022,593 following a three-way deal.

Now, eleven years after that triumph, the Indonesian poker pro has reached Day 5 of the €5,300 Main Event. His latest run gives him another opportunity to add a second EPT Barcelona title to his career record.

The tournament's €1,370,050 first prize would also become a larger tournament result for Juanda than his 2015 Barcelona score, based on the Hendon Mob ranking provided. At the time of publishing Juanda was 8th in chips with 57 BB in hands and 25 left in the field.
