APT Taipei 2026 has set a new tour record with over 2,000 Main Event entries and a TWD 98 million prize pool. Key victors include Phachara Wongwichit and Mike Takayama, who claimed the richest Super High Roller title in APT history.

The 2026 edition of the Asian Poker Tour stop in Taipei has officially opened, establishing a new benchmark for participation in the tour’s history.

This year’s festival began with the largest field ever recorded at an APT event, reinforcing Taipei as a premier destination on the regional poker circuit. The initial momentum has transitioned into the Main Event, which is currently surpassing performance expectations.

Main Event Field and Prize Pool Details

The Main Event has seen a significant surge in entries as the tournament progresses. Initial flights drew approximately 1,400 participants, but the total field has now climbed past the 2,000 entry mark. This high level of engagement has resulted in a prize pool of roughly TWD 100 million, which converts to approximately USD 3.1 million.

While the tournament remains ongoing, certain players have already made their mark. Taiwan’s own Zi Han Lin finished Flight 1B as the chip leader, securing a strong position as the field moves toward the later stages of competition.

High-Stakes Victories and Landmark Results

Several marquee side events have concluded, crowning winners and setting tour records. In the Superstar Challenge, Phachara Wongwichit secured the title. His victory earned him a top prize of TWD 7.2 million (approximately USD 232,000), marking one of the largest confirmed payouts of the 2026 series to date.

The high-stakes segment also witnessed a historic performance by Mike Takayama. By capturing the Super High Roller title, Takayama secured the richest Super High Roller win in the history of the Asian Poker Tour. This result represents a major milestone for the tour’s high buy-in offerings.

Series Outlook

With the Main Event still in progress and field sizes exceeding key thresholds, APT Taipei 2026 is developing into one of the most significant stops on the current tour schedule. The combination of record-breaking attendance and historic payouts in the high-stakes arena has defined the early stages of the festival as final outcomes are awaited.
