Carlo van Ravenswoud leads 56 survivors after Day 1 of the 2026 WSOP $10K No-Limit 2-7 Championship with 319,000 chips. Daniel Negreanu and Chad Eveslage trail closely with 311,000, heading a stacked field of legendary poker professionals.
The 2026 World Series of Poker continued to deliver high-stakes drama at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas as Event #17: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship officially kicked off.
The prestigious event, widely regarded as one of the most revered tournaments on the annual schedule, attracted an elite field of poker legends.
By the conclusion of Day 1, the board recorded 136 entries, with only 56 players successfully navigating the opening rounds to secure a spot for the next stage of play.
Among the most notable storylines of the day was the rapid resurgence of Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu. Shortly after busting out of the $10k GGMillion$ High Roller, Negreanu quickly pivoted and registered for the No-Limit 2-7 Championship.
He made an immediate impact at his starting table, engaging in antics and doubling his initial 60,000-chip starting stack at lightning speed. While his table presence quieted down as the night progressed, his momentum did not stall. Negreanu concluded the session with a massive 311,000 chips.
Negreanu shares the second place spot on the end-of-night leaderboard with fellow poker legend Chad Eveslage. Both players bagged upward of 100 big blinds for Day 2. They sit just a few chips behind Carlo van Ravenswoud, who captured the overall chiplead by packing away 319,000 chips.
The top ten chip counts represent a highly competitive lineup of elite professionals. High-stakes hold'em crusher Alex Foxen secured his position near the top, alongside Hall of Fame member John Hennigan and reigning Player of the Year Shaun Deeb.
Also looming large in the top ten is seven-time bracelet winner Scott Seiver, who previously conquered this exact tournament during his historic 2024 WSOP Player of the Year campaign.
The tournament prize pool has already reached $1,264,800, though this figure is guaranteed to expand. Late registration remains open for one final level at the start of Day 2, allowing plenty of room for late arrivals and secondary attempts, with a maximum of two reentries permitted per player.
Several former champions and iconic figures also advanced through the initial field. Farzad Bonyadi, the 2021 champion of this event, bagged a healthy stack of 171,500 chips as he pursues his fifth career bracelet.
Chris Moneymaker, famed for igniting the poker boom, concluded Day 1 with an above-average stack of 149,500 chips, while Jennifer Harman sits right behind him with a stack of 140,000.
Benny Glaser finished the night with 131,500 chips, keeping his hopes alive for a ninth career World Series of Poker bracelet. Defending champion Nick Schulman also advanced, wrapping up Day 1 with 86,500 chips.
Additionally, 2018 Main Event champion John Cynn made a rare tournament appearance, successfully bagging 41,500 chips as he aims to secure what would be only his second WSOP cash since his historic Main Event victory.
The event is scheduled to restart on June 3 at 1 p.m. local time. Play will resume with blinds set at 1,500/3,000 alongside a 4,500 big blind ante.
The current group of 58 survivors will be joined by the final wave of late registrants. According to the tournament structure, Day 2 will task the field with playing down until only five players remain, setting the stage for the final table.
