The GG World Festival 2026 opened with 1,600 tournaments and $300 million in guarantees. Early highlights include massive field sizes in low tier events, significant mystery bounty payouts reaching $91,000, and major title wins for players from Argentina and Andorra.

GGPoker's GG World Festival 2026 has officially commenced, solidifying its status as the largest guaranteed online poker series in history. With $300 million guaranteed across 1,600 tournaments, the series launched on May 3 with an opening weekend that saw massive player participation. 

Across Low, Medium, High, and Super tiers, tournament fields consistently surpassed their set guarantees while the $3 million leaderboard race began in earnest.

Low Tier: Global Participation and Repeat Podiums

The Low tier provided massive value for modest buy-in amounts, led by Event 05-L: Grand Prix Europe. This $15 buy-in event attracted 13,073 entries, creating a prize pool of $180,407.40. 

Argentina’s Fakkpereda claimed the top prize of $15,945.76 after nine hours of play. Slovenia’s 'IwasEscoPablo' secured third place, a feat he would incredibly repeat in Event 10-L: Sunday Main Event. 

That $25 buy-in event drew 8,540 entries for a $196,420 prize pool, where Cyprus’s Meruokba took the victory.

In Event 08-L: Sunday Hundred Grand, another $15 buy-in tournament, the field of 11,654 entries generated a $160,825.20 prize pool. Argentina’s 'PUNTANITO10' outlasted the competition to earn $14,967.29.

Medium Tier: Mystery Bounties and GGMasters Chops

The Mystery Bounty format took center stage in the Medium tier. In Event 02-M: Sunday Showdown Asia, a three-way chop saw Uruguay’s AndroidN17 take the win, but Austria’s Zauberer94 claimed the spotlight by pulling a $40,310 bounty despite finishing in 386th place. 

Similarly, in Event 12-M: Sunday Showdown, New Zealand’s LargePoodle finished 369th yet walked away with $45,000 in bounties. Mexico’s Limitless] won the event following another three-way deal.

The flagship Event 08-M: GGMasters featured a $150 buy-in and a $1,000,000 guarantee. After 27 hours of play across two days, 7,948 entries pushed the prize pool to $1,096,824. A four-way chop concluded the event, with Romania’s 'aSeHigh' taking the largest share of $110,214.40.

High Tier: Argentinian Success and Andorran Duel

The High tier highlights included Event 07-H: Bounty Hunters Sunday Main Event, where 3,772 entries created a $1,886,000 prize pool. Austria’s nickmini4 secured first place and $56,742.82 in bounty rewards. 

Meanwhile, Event 11-H: GGMasters Bounty King saw a rare occurrence as two players from Andorra, SorryBud and Bababangg, finished in first and second place respectively.

Argentina continued its strong weekend in Event 08-H: GGMasters HR. jimmyjoint topped a 3,772 entry field to win $187,805.09, marking one of the highest individual scores of the festival's start.

Super Tier: Elite Competition and $91K Bounties

In the highest buy-in brackets, Event 10-S: Sunday Main Event saw GREAGYPoker from Russia best a 91 entry field in the $5,250 buy-in event to claim $82,285.31.

The weekend’s most significant bounty discovery occurred in Event 12-S: Sunday Showdown. While Mexico’s don chimbo won the tournament for $51,803.58 plus bounties, Slovenia’s A Karmatckii captured a massive $91,000 mystery bounty. 

Despite finishing in 12th place, the bounty prize stood as the largest individual mystery bounty of the opening weekend.
