GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu advanced on Day 1a of the WSOP $10K GGMillion$ High Roller. Meanwhile, Philip Chun won Event #1 for $400,000, Stephen Hubbard leads Event #12, and Michel Molenaar bagged big in Event #13.

The 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) continues to heat up at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, with Day 1a of Event #11: $10,000 GGMillion$ High Roller drawing a competitive field.

A total of 194 entries were processed during the opening flight, but only 92 players managed to successfully navigate the day and secure a spot for Day 2. Among the survivors are two of poker’s most legendary figures, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu.

Phil Ivey finished the opening flight toward the bottom of the chip counts, ranking 71st out of the 92 survivors after bagging and tagging a stack of 117,500.

Despite holding one of the shorter stacks, Ivey will return to Day 2 with almost 60 big blinds, providing him with plenty of room to maneuver as he continues his hunt for a historic 12th WSOP gold bracelet.

GGPoker ambassador Daniel Negreanu also locked up his spot in the Day 2 line-up. Negreanu entered the high-stakes tournament immediately after a runner-up finish in the $25,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship, where he surrendered a 10:1 chip lead in his final match against Biao Ding.

Jumping straight back into action, Negreanu built a stack of 154,000 chips by the conclusion of the 10th level, placing him 58th overall in the flight.

WSOP Event Updates

The series has seen a rapid surge in champions. While six bracelets were awarded over the first six days of the 2026 WSOP, that number has now climbed to 10.

Day 7 alone saw four players crown themselves WSOP champions. Among them was Philip Chun, who emerged victorious in Event #1: $550 Mini Mystery Millions. Chun claimed his first career gold bracelet along with a top prize of $400,000.

In other tournament action, Event #12: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw has reached its final table. Only six players remain in contention, with Stephen Hubbard of Utah leading the pack back into battle on June 2.

Hubbard, who recently earned $142,279 for a fifth-place finish in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, is now in prime position to capture a WSOP bracelet and the $155,819 first-place prize.

Meanwhile, Event #13: $1,500 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em completed its opening day of play. Dutch poker star Michel Molenaar enjoyed a highly productive session, bagging up 850,000 chips. His performance was strong enough to secure sixth place in the chip standings ahead of the upcoming restart.
