Asian Poker Tour Returns To Manila In October
The well-known live poker brand, Asian Poker Tour (APT) is making a grand return to Manila, Philippines, after a sabbatical of nearly two years.
This news was shared by APT on its social media handles. The rapidly expanding Asian live series announced the dates for APT Manila 2024. This tournament series will run from October 28 to November 7.
APT also announced its new partnership with Soul Poker Club, which will serve as its venue. The club is located within the luxurious City of Dreams Manila resort and casino.
As per reports, Soul Poker Club has been actively hosting several cash games daily and weekly tournaments since its opening in late May.
While APT is tight-lipped about further details of its Manila series, players expressed their excitement to join the action in October.
APT was founded in 2008 and has established itself as a force to reckon with. Earlier on APT made Manila and Macau its primary locations, with top of the line events hosted annually.
Despite APT's significant growth in the initial years, the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 stopped all live poker activities in the continent, leading to the cancellation of at least three series in Manila.
After a gap of three-years, APT returned To Manila with a summer festival in 2022, featuring an impressive guaranteed PHP 15,000,000 (~$266,730) Main Event. The series was a grand success and surpassed its initial guarantee thanks to the 370 entries it had gathered.
After a while, APT returned to Newport World Resorts Manila. This surely attracted a larger crowd than its previous venue. In 2023, APT did not make a stop in Manila, but marked record-breaking events in locations like Vietnam, Taiwan, and South Korea.
APT now looks focused on expanding beyond its usual stops further cementing its position on a global stage. Attendance at APT events have shown an upward trajectory with no signs of slowing down. Apart from the Manila series, APT is also hosting its Taipei Poker Classic in September.
