Stake Poker Expands Game Selection with Launch of PLO5 in the US
- Stake Poker adds 5-Card Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO5) to US lineup.
- PLO5 offers five hole cards and unique strategic play.
- Enhances platform's variety beyond traditional formats.

Stake Poker just gave its US game lineup a little extra punch by rolling out 5-Card Pot-Limit Omaha — better known as PLO5 — to its sweepstakes platform. And if you’ve never played it before, here’s the short version: five hole cards, two of them in play, and a lot of creative pain on the river.
The rules are still Omaha basics — two cards from your hand, three from the board — but adding a fifth hole card changes everything. It’s the same game, only turbocharged. More combos, more draws, more second-guessing when that turn card hits.
With this update, Stake becomes only the second sweepstakes poker operator in the US to offer PLO5. It’s a notable move for a platform that’s already pushing past the standard Hold’em-and-go formula.
“PLO5 has a reputation for being wild, unpredictable, and incredibly fun,” said a Stake spokesperson. “We’re making that experience available to more players.”
For US players, it also opens a door that’s mostly been shut until now. PLO5 was typically reserved for international online sites or live casino tables — now, it’s part of the sweepstakes scene.

Between this and its existing formats, Stake’s giving players something they don’t often get online: actual variety.
