Malta Set for PLO Grand Slam: €4.5M Guaranteed Over 25 Events

After a strong start to the year in Albania, the PLO Grand Slam is back for another edition—this time setting up shop at Arena Casino Malta from October 13 to 20. The week-long festival is focused entirely on Pot-Limit Omaha, with a packed schedule of 25 events and a total guarantee of more than €4.5 million.

This Malta edition builds on the momentum of previous stops, bringing back headline events like the €10K Championship and €5K Million, alongside new formats and a range of satellite options.

At the center of the schedule is the €10,300 Championship, offering a €2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. The event has two Day 1 flights (October 13 and 14), with Giga Satellites running just before each to give players a lower-cost way in.

Following that is the €5,200 Million, another major event with €1,000,000 guaranteed, split across two starting days (October 16–17). The €5,200 Mystery Bounty adds another layer of strategy with €2,000 bounties on each player.

Players chasing high stakes will also find a €25K High Roller in the mix, offering €500K guaranteed. And for those looking to play something a little different, the schedule includes 6-card PLO, bomb pot formats, and multiple turbos.

For players registering early and seated from the first hand, a 10% chip bonus applies. Those who register during Level 1 can still collect a 5% bonus. Most events allow unlimited re-entries during the late registration window.

There’s also a hotel package for players entering Day 1A of the €10K Championship or €5K Million — they’ll receive a complimentary stay at either the InterContinental Malta or Voco Hotel, both 5-star properties.

The last edition in January ended with a story that caught the attention of many. Norwegian player Tom-Aksel Bedell managed to parlay a freeroll seat into a €438,000 victory in the Championship event — after firing eight bullets in a satellite to earn his ticket.

Bedell went on to outlast a tough final table that included Lautaro Guerra, Daniel Tordjman, Tom Vogelsang, Oleksii Kovalchuk, and Andrew Ige. It was a reminder that the Grand Slam tends to attract a high-caliber field — and some unpredictable runs
